Recently, the 3rd Water Youth English Speech Contest, co-hosted by ZUWE, was successfully held at the Nanxun Campus. Hao Zhao, Director-General of the International Economic & Technical Cooperation and Exchange Center, Ministry of Water Resources (MWR); Liu Zhiguang, former Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, MWR; Wan Jian, President of ZUWE; and others attended the event and presented awards to the winners. Over 200 representatives from relevant departments, faculty, and students of ZUWE attended the event to observe the competition.
This competition attracted outstanding young contestants recommended by 24 organizations, including units under the MWR, water conservancy universities, and relevant central state-owned enterprises. The atmosphere at the event was warm and lively, with rounds of applause echoing throughout. The contestants closely followed the theme of the event, drawing on their own work and study experiences to share their thoughts and insights on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourses on water governance, using clear and fluent English expression and engaging storytelling to present their reflections and perceptions in water conservancy practice.
